Arroqueño Artesanal Joven from 9 Espíritus is produced in San José Río Minas, in Oaxaca’s Mixteca region. It is made from Arroqueño agave, which takes 15–18 years to reach maturity for harvesting — a long growing period that precedes the production of this mezcal.
The mature agave hearts are roasted in a conical stone oven, then crushed and fermented in wooden vats. The mezcal is subsequently distilled twice in copper stills and bottled at 45% ABV.
Its profile combines a subtle citrus aroma with an earthy palate: freshness is more apparent on the nose, while earthy notes emerge on the palate. Clear and crystalline, this Arroqueño can be enjoyed neat to appreciate the difference between its aroma and flavor.
