Grande Reserva Pai Chão is a premium red wine produced by Adega Mayor in Portugal’s Alentejo region, created only in selected vintages when the quality of the grapes allows for a wine with greater structure and aging potential. It is typically made from a blend of Alicante Bouschet and Touriga Nacional, two varieties that thrive in the warm Alentejo climate and provide depth, color, and aromatic intensity.

The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected before fermentation takes place under controlled conditions to preserve the character of the fruit. After fermentation, the wine ages for about 24 months in new French oak barrels, followed by additional bottle aging before release.

In the glass it displays a deep, almost opaque ruby color and complex aromas of ripe dark fruits such as blackberry and plum, accompanied by notes of spice, cocoa, and subtle toasted oak. On the palate it is full-bodied and structured, with firm but well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity that adds freshness.

The flavor profile is rich and layered, leading to a long and persistent finish. Grande Reserva Pai Chão is designed for long aging and can develop additional complexity over time.
