Marrone di Roccadaspide IGP

4.3 ·

Marrone di Roccadaspide IGP are organic dried chestnuts produced by the Agrimolina cooperative in Roccadaspide, Campania. They come from the designated production area of Marrone di Roccadaspide, a name protected by a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).

The fresh chestnuts are dried with warm air. During drying, they are turned several times, and the temperature inside the dryers is checked daily to keep it consistent. Once their moisture content has fallen from approximately 50% to 10%, the chestnuts are peeled and sorted by hand to remove damaged fruit.

Marrone di Roccadaspide chestnuts are known for their pronounced natural sweetness. Once dried and peeled, they have a pale straw colour and can be used in cooked dishes and chestnut desserts.
