Al Nassma is an Emirati camel milk chocolate producer founded in Dubai in 2008. The brand was developed following approximately four years of recipe research and is regarded as the world’s first producer of this type of chocolate. Its name comes from Arabic and refers to a seasonal breeze that brings cooler air to the desert plains. Camel milk is the defining ingredient of its products and gives the chocolate a subtle saltiness and a different flavour profile from chocolate made with cow’s milk. The milk is sourced from the Camelicious farm in Umm Nahad in the Emirate of Dubai. The company’s headquarters and production facilities are located in Dubai Silicon Oasis. Its range includes milk and dark chocolate, pralines, chocolate bars with nuts and flavourings, and camel-shaped chocolate figures. Some products contain ingredients associated with the culinary traditions of the Arabian Peninsula, including dates, honey, pistachios, cinnamon, and cardamom. The brand’s recognisable products include hollow camel figures wrapped in gold foil and the Camel Caravan collections. Its products are halal-certified and, according to the company, contain no artificial flavours or preservatives. Al Nassma positions its products as a combination of European chocolate-making traditions and ingredients characteristic of the United Arab Emirates.
