Vinhas Velhas Bical is a white wine produced by Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal in the Bairrada wine region, made exclusively from the indigenous Portuguese grape variety Bical. The grapes come from old vineyards, which typically yield lower quantities but offer greater concentration and complexity in the resulting wine.

Bical is well known for producing structured white wines with freshness and aging potential, characteristics that are particularly evident in this expression. During vinification, part of the wine ferments and ages in French oak barrels while the remainder is fermented in stainless steel, creating a balance between freshness and subtle oak influence.

Aromatically, the wine shows notes of ripe apple, pear, and citrus, complemented by delicate toasted and nutty nuances from barrel aging. On the palate it is elegant and well balanced, with vibrant acidity and a distinct mineral character typical of the Bairrada terroir.

The texture is structured yet refined, leading to a long and persistent finish. Vinhas Velhas Bical reflects both the character of the Bical grape and the depth that old vineyards can bring to white wines from this region.
