Antique Pelinkovac

4.2 ·

Antique Pelinkovac is a herbal liqueur produced by Badel 1862, based on a recipe whose origins date back to 1862, when it was developed by the distiller and chemist Franjo Pokorny. The original Pokorny Pelinkovac gained recognition as a herbal digestif, while the present-day Antique Pelinkovac was created after Badel 1862 reconstructed the historic recipe and reintroduced it in the early 21st century. It is made from a carefully selected blend of more than 40 aromatic herbs, roots, flowers, and fruits, with wormwood serving as the key ingredient. Traditional maceration and ageing methods are used during production to develop its complex and well-balanced flavor profile. Bottled at 35% ABV, the liqueur is characterized by the distinctive bitterness of wormwood complemented by notes of citrus, aromatic herbs, spices, and menthol, with a subtle sweetness that rounds out the palate. It is intended to be enjoyed as an aperitif or digestif and is commonly served chilled, over ice, or with a slice of orange, while it is also widely used in cocktails.
