Xyauyù is a cult barley wine from the Baladin brewery, first created in 2004 by founder Teo Musso as an experimental beer that embraces oxidation as a feature rather than a flaw. It marks the beginning of the “Riserva Teo Musso” series of special reserve releases, which includes various barrel-aged editions.
The classic Xyauyù 2017 is clear, deep ruby in color, with no head, and offers aromas of nougat, caramel, dried plums, and dates. The flavor follows the nose, delivering a rich, warming mouthfeel with a sweet finish reminiscent of candied fruit.
With 13-14% ABV and a complex, barrel-influenced profile, Xyauyù embodies Baladin’s philosophy - a fusion of tradition and constant experimentation through diverse wood-aging processes.
