Granada Mollar de Elche is a pomegranate grown in the in the province of Alicante in the south-east of the Autonomous Community of Valencia. This type of pomegranate is known for its unique characteristics that differentiate it from other varieties; Granada de Elche is particularly sweet and has an intense color that comes from its high content of anthocyanin, the antioxidant pigment found in this fruit. This variety, in addition to its intense flavor, has a soft seed that makes it easier to eat. This 'superfruit' is extremely popular worldwide, so it comes as no surprise that more than 70% of production is for export.

Kaki Ribera del Xúquer

Kaki Ribera del Xúquer is the persimmon fruit grown in the Province of Valencia. This fruit was brought to Europe, and consequently to Spain, in the 19th century from China, where it had been cultivated since the 8th century. Persimmons grown in this region are larger in size and have a more pointed shape. Kaki Ribera del Xúquer is deep red, soft and has a very sweet, caramel flavor. This variety of persimmons does not contain any seeds and is very easy to peel. Because of the special method growers use to remove the bitterness and develop full flavor, this fruit can be picked before it is completely ripe and sold while its flesh is still firm.

Nísperos Callosa d'en Sarriá

Nísperos Callosa d'en Sarriá is the fruit of the Eriobotryae Japonica Lindi species grown in the district of Marina Baja. This loquat fruit is from the Algar, Agerie or Nada varieties, and is bright yellow and has a sweet and slightly acidic flavor. An interesting fact about the loquat tree is that its flowers bloom in the autumn and early winter, and the fruits ripen from early spring to early summer. It has a thick and firm skin and white to pale yellow flesh. Nísperos Callosa d'en Sarriá is a fruit sold at the prime of its ripeness and without any visible blemishes. It is mostly eaten raw, by itself or combined with other fruits, and is often used to produce jams or chutneys.

Uva de mesa embolsada 'Vinalopó'

Uva de mesa embolsada 'Vinalopo' are grapes of the white Aledo, Italia or Ideal, Rosetti, Victoria, Dominga and Doña María varieties and the black Red Globe variety. These varieties are cultivated in the province of Alicante: Agost, Aspe, Hondón de Los Frailes, Hondón de las Nieves, Monforte del Cid, Novelda and La Romana. All the individual grapes must be of the demanded size and shape and attached to the stalk. When the grapes start ripening in July, the best bunches are placed inside a paper bag to protect them from rain and humidity and prevent the berries from developing skin defects. This technique prolongs ripening and results in a higher quality of these berries and their stronger flavor.

Cerezas de la Montaña de Alicante

Cerezas de la Montaña de Alicante are table cherries of the local Burlat, Tilagua, Planera, Nadal, Picota and Picota Ambrunesa varieties. These supreme quality cherries have been grown in the north of the province of Alicante and the south of the province of Valencia since they were brought there by the Romans. These cherries are quite sweet, very flavorful, deep red in color and very crispy. Cerezas de la Montaña de Alicante and are categorized as 'extra' and 'primera' according to their size. These cherries are traditionally hand-picked at the moment of optimal ripeness to ensure fruit of superior quality.
