The producer of Jelički Dukat rakija is the family-owned estate PP “Pridvorica”, run by the Prodanović family from the village of Pridvorica, nestled on the eastern slopes of Mount Jelica near Čačak. The family’s distilling tradition dates back to the 18th century, and today, their knowledge and dedication are reflected in every detail—from the cultivation of plums to the final drop of rakija.
This long and meticulous aging process gives the rakija its rich flavor and aroma, a distinctive golden-amber color, and a refined, noble character. Flores is a family-owned distillery from the village of Divostin near Kragujevac, founded in 1985 and known for its consistent production of traditional Serbian fruit brandies. Their process combines classic, time-tested recipes with modern quality control, while aging takes place in oak barrels stored in nearby Kamenica, which adds depth and harmony to the final distillates. The distillery’s flagship product is Žuta Osa, a plum brandy that has become one of Serbia’s most recognizable spirits, celebrated for its pure varietal character and numerous international awards. In addition to it, Flores produces grape brandy and herbal brandy, relying on locally sourced fruit and traditional distillation methods. The brand is built on authenticity, clean fruit expression, and steady quality, which secures its strong position among Serbian rakija producers.
Gružanska Nit is a family-run distillery from central Šumadija, based in the village of Guberevac on the slopes of Kotlenik, where the combination of altitude, mineral soil and a mild continental climate shapes the character of their fruit spirits. The distillery controls the entire production process - from cultivating their own orchards on 10-12 hectares, through fermentation and double distillation, to long maturation in oak barrels made from Miroč oak, a hardwood known for imparting subtle spice and gentle vanilla notes without overwhelming the fruit. Their portfolio covers classic Serbian fruit brandies such as plum, quince, and pear, as well as premium aged editions like Gružanska Zlatna Nit, a nine-year-old plum brandy, and the rare Gružanska Nit 20 Years, a blend of three plum varieties aged for at least two decades. The style of the distillery is defined by clean fruit expression, balanced warmth and layered aromatics, resulting in spirits that appeal both to traditional rakija drinkers and to connoisseurs seeking complexity and depth. Gružanska Nit has grown into a respected regional producer with an increasingly international presence, valuing authenticity, controlled craftsmanship and slow maturation as the foundation of its identity.
