Colomé 1831 Malbec from Bodega Colomé is crafted as a tribute to one of Argentina’s oldest vineyard sites, originally planted in 1831 and located at around 2,300 meters above sea level in the Calchaquí Valley. The wine is made from old vines with naturally low yields, which contribute to its concentration, depth, and structural intensity.

Produced from 100% Malbec, it is aged for approximately 18 months in French oak, allowing it to develop complexity while maintaining a clear expression of its origin. In the glass, it shows a deep red color with violet hues, while the nose reveals layered aromas of ripe black fruit, such as blackberry and plum, alongside floral notes and hints of spice.

On the palate, it is full-bodied and concentrated, with firm yet refined tannins and a balanced acidity that keeps the wine structured and focused. The influence of oak is present but integrated, adding subtle notes of cocoa and toast without dominating the fruit.

The texture is dense yet polished, reflecting both the age of the vines and the high-altitude conditions. The finish is long and persistent, marked by dark fruit, spice, and a faint mineral undertone.

This is a wine that combines historical identity with precision and structure, pairing well with grilled meats, lamb, and aged cheeses.
