Aro from Bodegas Muga is one of the estate’s most prestigious and limited wines, produced only in exceptional vintages when conditions allow for optimal ripeness, particularly of the Graciano variety. The blend is primarily based on Tempranillo, complemented by a significant proportion of Graciano, which contributes freshness, structure, and aging potential.
Sourced from carefully selected vineyards in Rioja Alta, the wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts in small wooden vats, enhancing its sense of place and complexity. Aromatically, it reveals layers of dark berries such as blackberry and blackcurrant, alongside floral notes of violet, and nuances of spice, cocoa, and well-integrated French oak.
On the palate, it is full-bodied and concentrated, with a silky texture, ripe tannins, and balanced acidity that brings precision and energy. The structure is powerful yet refined, leading to a long, elegant finish where fruit, spice, and subtle mineral notes intertwine.
The style combines intensity with restraint, and thanks to extended aging in new French oak and bottle, Aro develops significant depth over time, with the potential to evolve gracefully for decades.
