Bodegas Muga

Torre Muga

4.5 ·

Torre Muga is one of the most prestigious wines of Bodegas Muga and represents a top-tier interpretation of classic Rioja, defined by structure, depth, and long aging potential. It is made primarily from Tempranillo, complemented by smaller proportions of Garnacha, Mazuelo, and Graciano, sourced from carefully selected old vineyards with naturally low yields.

The grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously sorted to ensure only the best fruit is used. Vinification involves extended maceration to build concentration and texture, followed by long aging in high-quality oak barrels - mainly French oak - and additional bottle maturation before release.

Aromatically, Torre Muga combines ripe cherry, plum, and dark berry fruit with complex layers of spice, tobacco, leather, and subtle toasted notes. On the palate, it is full-bodied and powerful, yet refined, with firm but polished tannins and well-balanced acidity.

The finish is long, persistent, and evolving, revealing new nuances over time. Torre Muga is crafted as a true cellaring wine, designed to develop complexity over many years.

It pairs especially well with braised meats, game, lamb, and aged cheeses. Today, it stands as one of the flagship cuvées of Bodegas Muga and a reference point for high-end Rioja.
