Tripel Karmeliet is an elegant and complex beer in the Belgian tripel style, brewed by Bosteels Brewery and first introduced in 1996, following an authentic recipe created by Carmelite monks in 1679. What makes it truly unique is the use of three different grains – barley, wheat, and oats – which together contribute to its layered flavor, full texture, and creamy mouthfeel.

The beer has a bright golden color, crowned with a rich, white head and delicate bubbles that reveal its natural carbonation. Its aroma reveals fruity notes of banana, pear, and citrus peel, complemented by subtle spicy and floral hints.

The taste is rounded and smooth, with gentle sweetness, touches of vanilla and caramel, and mild spices like clove and coriander. The finish is dry and refreshing, with a slightly bitter note reminiscent of lemon zest.

Despite its relatively high alcohol content of 8.4%, the beer remains remarkably drinkable and well-balanced. It pairs excellently with aromatic cheeses, seafood dishes, and even creamy or fruity desserts.

Its complexity and harmony make it one of the most respected Belgian tripels. Tripel Karmeliet stands as a testament to how tradition and artisanal dedication can produce a timeless and exceptional beer.
