Casa Barone is an Italian family-owned farm and producer of organic specialty foods based in Massa di Somma, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius in the Campania region. Managed by Giancarlo Marino, the farm is recognized as the largest organic farm within the Vesuvius National Park. Its production is centered on preserving traditional crop varieties native to the volcanic area, with a particular focus on cultivating Pomodorino del Piennolo del Vesuvio DOP, a tomato protected by the European Protected Designation of Origin (PDO). In addition to tomatoes, the company grows olives, grapevines, and fruit, which are used to produce preserves, jams, marmalades, extra virgin olive oil, liqueurs, and spirits. All production follows the principles of organic farming while preserving biodiversity and making the most of the unique characteristics of Vesuvius' volcanic soil, which contributes to the distinctive flavor of its products.
