Doce de Castanha is a Portuguese sweet chestnut spread made by Casa da Prisca in Trancoso. It belongs to the range of jams and fruit spreads that the family producer began developing in 2004, alongside its longstanding production of cured meats.

Chestnuts form the base of the spread, which is made without added colourings or preservatives. The Portuguese word doce means a sweet preserve; the chestnuts give this one its distinctive flavour and rich texture.

It can be spread on toast or bread, used as a filling for cakes and pastries, served with cheese, or stirred into plain yogurt.
