Casa Ferreirinha Reserva Especial Douro is a prestigious red wine from the Douro Valley, produced only in selected vintages when the quality of the harvest meets the estate’s strict standards. The wine is made from traditional Douro grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz, grown in carefully selected vineyards planted on the schist soils typical of the region.

Fermentation takes place under controlled conditions to preserve the concentration and aromatic expression of the grapes, followed by extended aging in oak barrels that contributes to the wine’s structure and complexity. In the glass it shows a deep, intense ruby color with aromas of ripe dark fruit, black plum and blackberry, complemented by notes of spice, tobacco and subtle balsamic nuances developed during maturation.

On the palate it is powerful and well structured, with firm yet refined tannins and balanced acidity that supports a long and persistent finish. Reserva Especial Douro is regarded as one of the winery’s flagship wines, positioned just below the iconic Barca Velha, and is known for its capacity to age gracefully for many years while maintaining the distinctive character of the Douro region.
