Castillo de Tudején is a Spanish producer of extra virgin olive oil based in Cabretón, within the municipality of Cervera del Río Alhama in the La Rioja region. The brand belongs to Dehesa del Castillo, an olive mill established in 2012, specializing in the production, processing, and commercialization of high-quality olive oils.
Its production is strongly focused on the Arbequina variety, which the producer presents as the “liquid gold” of La Rioja, with an emphasis on organic cultivation and certification under the DOP Aceite de La Rioja protected designation of origin. The olives are mechanically harvested in a way that prevents the fruit from touching the ground, helping preserve quality and minimizing the time between harvest and extraction.
Harvesting takes place at optimal ripeness, when the olives retain fruitiness and antioxidants while moving beyond overly herbaceous characteristics. Castillo de Tudején oils are known for the aromatic elegance typical of Arbequina, but with a somewhat more expressive palate presence than the softer style often associated with this variety.
The brand is positioned as a focused, terroir-driven producer that combines careful harvesting, controlled milling, and a clear varietal identity rooted in La Rioja’s olive-growing tradition.
