Nono 4 Terre is a complex white wine produced by the Cattunar winery in western Istria, made from the Malvazija Istarska grape variety as part of the winery’s “4 Terre” project, which explores the influence of four different Istrian soil types on the character of the wine. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by an extended period of skin contact that contributes to the wine’s structure and aromatic depth.
After fermentation the wine matures for an extended period in large acacia barrels, allowing it to develop additional complexity and texture. It shows a deep golden color and an expressive aromatic profile with notes of ripe orchard fruit, citrus peel, dried herbs and subtle spice nuances.
On the palate the wine is full-bodied and textured, with pronounced minerality and balanced acidity. The finish is long and layered, reflecting both the Malvazija variety and the influence of the different soil types.
Nono 4 Terre represents one of the most distinctive wines in the Cattunar portfolio and an ambitious interpretation of Malvazija from the Istrian terroir.
