Chalmar Beef is a family-owned South African producer of beef and lamb, with a farm and production facility in Bapsfontein, Gauteng. The company was founded in March 1969 by Wimpie Wethmar, who purchased his first four cattle as a teenager using money earned from working on a chicken farm. The name Chalmar combines the surnames Challinor and Wethmar. Today, the second generation manages the business, with Willem Wethmar serving as CEO and Sarah Wethmar as director.
