Bún Tươi are thin rice vermicelli produced by the Vietnamese company Chanh Khang in Ho Chi Minh City. Although the name literally refers to fresh noodles, the product is sold dried so that it can be stored at room temperature for a longer period. It is made entirely from rice without added preservatives or chemical additives. The manufacturer also labels it as gluten-free. The vermicelli have a natural white color and a mild neutral flavor that does not overpower the other ingredients in a dish. They are prepared by boiling them in water for approximately 12 to 14 minutes. After draining, they can be rinsed with cold water to stop further softening and help separate the strands. Once cooked, the noodles develop a soft and flexible texture suitable for absorbing broths, dressings, and sauces. They can be used in Vietnamese soups, stir-fried noodle dishes, and cold combinations with vegetables, aromatic herbs, meat, or seafood.
