1994 Château de Laubade Bas-Armagnac is an exceptional expression from the prestigious Bas Armagnac region. Crafted from traditional grape varieties – Baco, Ugni Blanc, and Folle Blanche – this vintage was entirely produced on the Château de Laubade estate, from vineyard to distillation, preserving the authentic character of its terroir. Following meticulous distillation, it matured in Gascony oak barrels handcrafted in the estate’s own cooperage, imparting remarkable depth and harmony.

In the glass, it shines with deep amber and mahogany hues, while the nose reveals a rich bouquet of ripe yellow plums, vanilla, exotic wood, and delicate spice notes. On the palate, it is rounded and silky, offering flavors of chocolate, butter, dried fruit, and a subtle touch of toasted oak. The long, layered finish brings refined nutty and “rancio” nuances, leaving a lasting and noble impression.

This is an Armagnac that masterfully balances elegance and power, perfect for true connoisseurs and for anyone wishing to experience luxury and tradition in every sip.

Producer

Château de Laubade is a prestigious estate located in the heart of Bas Armagnac, the most esteemed area of this renowned appellation in southwest France. Founded in 1870, the estate spans 105 hectares of vineyards in a single block, making it the largest of its kind in the region. Owned by the Lesgourgues family for three generations, Château de Laubade masterfully combines tradition with innovation.

Only traditional grape varieties are cultivated—Ugni Blanc, Baco, Folle Blanche, and Colombard—and each is distilled separately in copper stills located on the estate. The eaux-de-vie are aged in Gascony oak barrels crafted in their own cooperage, ensuring full control over quality and a distinctive house style. The collection ranges from classic Armagnacs, rich in complex aromas, to exclusive series and rare vintages that have matured for several decades.

Alongside exceptional craftsmanship, Château de Laubade is deeply committed to sustainability—the vineyards are farmed with respect for nature, and organic fertilizer is sourced from the estate’s own flock of 600 sheep. With international recognition and numerous awards, Château de Laubade stands today as a symbol of excellence, heritage, and artisanal mastery in the world of Armagnac.
