Le Cèdre is the flagship cuvée of Château du Cèdre, made entirely from Malbec and representing the most concentrated and structured expression of the estate’s terroir in Cahors. It is produced from carefully selected grapes, often sourced from older vines, and aged in oak barrels to enhance depth and complexity.

The aromatic profile is dominated by ripe dark fruits such as blackberry and plum, layered with notes of spice, cocoa, and subtle smoky nuances. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and dense, with firm, well-defined tannins that provide significant aging potential.

Additional characteristics may include hints of coffee, herbs, and earthy undertones, typical of the Cahors style. In some vintages, the wine is bottled unfiltered, preserving its natural texture and complexity but requiring time to fully evolve in the bottle.

Compared to the estate’s entry-level wines, Le Cèdre shows greater concentration, structure, and longevity, often capable of aging for a decade or more. It balances power with precision, offering a refined interpretation of Malbec that reflects both the tradition and modern approach of the Cahors region.
