Sv. Jakov Malvazija is one of the flagship wines of the Clai winery in Istria, produced from 100% Malvazija Istarska grapes grown on the Sv.

Jakov vineyard site near Buje. The grapes come from old vines cultivated according to organic principles, and the wine is typically produced only in selected vintages.

After manual harvesting, fermentation occurs spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, followed by an extended skin maceration that can last for several months, giving the wine its characteristic structure and depth. The wine then matures for around two years in large wooden barrels before bottling.

It shows a deep golden color and a complex aromatic profile that may include notes of dried fruit, honey, herbs, wildflowers and subtle mineral nuances. On the palate it is full-bodied and textured, with gentle tannins from the maceration and balanced acidity that supports its structure.

The finish is long and layered, reflecting both the character of the Malvazija variety and the distinctive terroir of the Sv. Jakov vineyard.
