Clos de la Coulée de Serrant is an iconic white wine made exclusively from Chenin Blanc, sourced from the single vineyard that covers the entire Coulée de Serrant appellation in the Loire Valley. The vineyard was planted in 1130 by Cistercian monks and has been cultivated continuously ever since, making it one of the oldest actively farmed vineyards in Europe.

Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts, and the wine is aged in a combination of oak vats and old barrels, with minimal use of new oak to preserve the purity and authenticity of the terroir. In the glass, it often shows a deep golden-yellow color and complex aromas of ripe pear, honey, beeswax, chamomile, subtle herbal notes and a mineral undertone from the schist soils.

On the palate, the wine is concentrated and textural, yet vibrant and energetic thanks to Chenin Blanc’s naturally high acidity. The finish is long, saline and tense, with a texture that evolves and unfolds with time in the glass.
