De Robertis is a family-owned olive oil estate based near Trani in Puglia, Southern Italy, focused on the production of high-quality extra virgin olive oil from the Coratina variety. The estate was established in the 1970s by Dr.

Donato De Robertis, who planted the first olive groves around his countryside villa with the aim of producing oil for personal use and local distribution. Over time, the project evolved into a structured agricultural enterprise, now managed by the next generation of the family.

Production is centered on monovarietal Coratina olives, a cultivar known for its high polyphenol content, pronounced bitterness, and marked pungency. The olives are harvested at an early stage of ripeness and processed shortly after picking to preserve aromatic intensity and antioxidant properties. Their flagship extra virgin olive oil is characterized by a vivid green color, herbaceous notes, and distinct flavors of artichoke and green almond, typical of well-extracted Coratina.

The oil’s robust structure makes it particularly suitable for pairing with grilled meats, legumes, bitter greens, and traditional Apulian dishes. The estate places emphasis on traceability and controlled production, managing cultivation, harvesting, and bottling within the same property.

In addition to olive oil production, the estate integrates hospitality activities, offering tastings and accommodation that reflect the agricultural landscape of the region. Overall, De Robertis represents a focused expression of Apulian olive oil culture, combining a single-variety approach with careful agronomic and milling practices.
