Domaine Dalamara is a historic family-owned estate located in the Naoussa region of northern Greece, with roots dating back to 1840, and today led by Kostis Dalamara, a sixth-generation winemaker who combines traditional knowledge with modern experience gained in regions such as Burgundy; the vineyards are situated on the slopes of Mount Vermio at altitudes of around 250-300 meters, where a combination of limestone-rich soils and a continental-Mediterranean climate allows for the balanced ripening of grapes, particularly the indigenous Xinomavro variety, which is the cornerstone of the winery’s production, while smaller plantings of Merlot, Assyrtiko, and Malagousia complement the portfolio; the estate has been organically certified since the mid-1990s and follows a low-intervention philosophy in both vineyard management and winemaking, aiming to preserve the authenticity of the terroir and varietal expression, resulting in wines characterized by freshness, vibrant acidity, fine tannins, and nuanced aromas that often include red fruits, herbs, and subtle earthy notes, with an overall style that emphasizes precision, elegance, and a clear sense of origin, positioning Dalamara as one of the key modern interpreters of Xinomavro from Naoussa.
