Clos de la Roche Grand Cru from Domaine Dujac is one of the purest and most elevated expressions of the Morey-Saint-Denis terroir, originating from one of Burgundy’s most prestigious Grand Cru vineyards. The limestone-, clay-, and gravel-rich soils give the wine remarkable structure, minerality, and depth, while Dujac’s signature approach - partial whole-cluster fermentation and minimal intervention - ensures that the terroir remains at the forefront of its character.

In its youth, the wine reveals dark fruit tones such as blackberry, cherry, and blackcurrant, accompanied by nuances of graphite, spice, forest floor, and a subtle touch of smoke. The texture is firm, concentrated, and finely sculpted, with refined tannins that provide exceptional aging potential.

Over time, the wine develops layers of leather, dark chocolate, dried earth, and noble minerality, further enhancing its complexity and elegance. Domaine Dujac combines organic vineyard practices with meticulous cellar work, resulting in a wine that captures both power and finesse.

Clos de la Roche Grand Cru stands among the most desirable Burgundy wines and is regarded as one of the finest interpretations of this legendary vineyard.

Producer

Domaine Dujac is one of the most influential and highly regarded estates in Burgundy, founded in 1968 when Jacques Seysses acquired the former Domaine Graillet in Morey-Saint-Denis and transformed it into a winery that now enjoys near-cult status. From the very beginning, the goal was to combine traditional Burgundian principles with a modern understanding of viticulture, resulting in a style that emphasizes elegance, precision, and the pure expression of terroir.

The estate manages about 17.5 hectares of vineyards, including some of the most prestigious Grand Cru and Premier Cru sites such as Clos de la Roche, Clos Saint-Denis, and Bonnes-Mares. Domaine Dujac is known for its organic and partially biodynamic approach to vineyard work, as well as its philosophy of minimal intervention, ensuring that the character of each parcel remains at the forefront.

Whole-cluster fermentation is frequently used to achieve aromatic complexity, fine tannic texture, and the estate’s signature floral elegance. In their youth, the wines display vibrant notes of red fruit, raspberry, cherry, and floral tones, while aging brings layers of spice, forest floor, earth, and graphite nuances.

In the cellar, oak is handled with great care, avoiding excessive use of new barrels to preserve purity and balance. Jeremy and Alec Seysses, the founder’s sons, now lead the domaine and continue to develop a style that blends subtlety with depth.
