Clos Syrah Léone is one of the signature wines of Domaine Peyre Rose, built primarily on Syrah with a small proportion of Grenache or Mourvèdre depending on the vintage. The vineyards sit on dry, clay-limestone soils with extremely low yields, which contributes to the wine’s impressive concentration and depth.

The aroma opens with dark fruit - blackberry, ripe plum - and quickly expands into layers of leather, smoke, graphite, and the characteristic Mediterranean “garrigue” notes of rosemary, thyme, and sage. On the palate, it is dense, powerful, and full-bodied, with fine, mature tannins shaped by long, slow aging in wood and additional bottle maturation before release.

The finish is long, mineral, and intense, yet never heavy, supported by a freshness that ensures longevity and balance. Clos Syrah Léone benefits from decanting and pairs best with boldly flavored dishes such as herb-roasted lamb, game meats, or aged hard cheeses.
