Pingus is the iconic flagship wine of Dominio de Pingus and one of the most celebrated cult wines of Ribera del Duero. It is made exclusively from old-vine Tempranillo, locally known as Tinta del País, sourced from a few tiny vineyard parcels with extremely low yields.

Many of these vines are over 70 years old, contributing exceptional concentration, depth, and natural balance. The wine is produced in very small quantities, which adds to its exclusivity and reputation worldwide.

In the cellar, fermentation is carried out with native yeasts, reflecting a philosophy of minimal intervention and respect for the raw character of the fruit. Ageing takes place mainly in French oak barrels, carefully selected to support the wine’s structure without masking its identity.

Pingus is known for its remarkable intensity combined with precision and finesse. On the nose, it shows deep aromas of black cherry, blackberry, and plum, layered with notes of licorice, graphite, cocoa, and subtle floral tones.

The palate is powerful yet refined, with dense but silky tannins that give the wine impressive structure and longevity. Despite its richness, the wine retains freshness and tension thanks to well-preserved acidity.

Oak is present but seamlessly integrated, adding complexity rather than dominance. Pingus is built for long ageing and often continues to evolve for decades in the bottle.

Over time, it develops tertiary notes of leather, tobacco, forest floor, and mineral nuances. Each vintage reflects both the character of the year and the strict selection behind the label.

The wine pairs best with refined dishes such as roasted lamb, aged beef, and truffle-based cuisine. More than just a luxury wine, Pingus represents a benchmark of modern Spanish winemaking focused on terroir expression.

For collectors and serious wine lovers, Pingus stands as one of the purest and most ambitious interpretations of Ribera del Duero.
