Dow's Port is one of the historic Port wine houses from Portugal’s Douro Valley, with origins dating back to 1798 when Portuguese merchant Bruno da Silva began exporting Port wine to England. Over time the business developed through partnerships with British wine merchants, eventually leading to the merger of Silva & Cosens with Dow & Co. in 1877, after which the name Dow’s was retained due to its strong reputation for high-quality Vintage Ports.
