E. Guigal Côte-Rôtie “La Mouline” is one of the most prestigious wines of the Northern Rhône and a true jewel in the E.
Guigal portfolio. Sourced from the famed Côte Blonde subregion, its grapes come from steep, sun-drenched terraces where old Syrah and Viognier vines - some over 75 years old - produce fruit of exceptional concentration and character. The wine is crafted through the traditional co-fermentation of Syrah (around 89%) and Viognier (about 11%), followed by an impressive 42 months of aging in new French oak barrels.
This meticulous process imparts remarkable depth, complexity, and the signature silky texture for which La Mouline is celebrated. In the glass, it displays a deep ruby hue with purplish highlights. The bouquet is intense and alluring, offering layers of ripe red and black berries, violets, spices, and delicate floral undertones.
On the palate, it is supremely elegant, full, and harmonious, with a long, multi-layered finish. Often described as the most delicate and “feminine” of Guigal’s top Côte-Rôtie wines, La Mouline masterfully combines the power of its terroir with exquisite refinement - created for true connoisseurs and lovers of wines with soul.
