Ekici is a Turkish dairy company and brand primarily specializing in cheese production. It was founded by Şabettin Ekici in 1957 as a small dairy in Ereğli in Konya Province. Initially, the dairy processed approximately one tonne of sheep’s milk per day to produce white cheese. Şabettin Ekici passed his production knowledge on to his sons Mansur and Mustafa. Due to the seasonal availability of sheep’s milk and the limited supply of cow’s milk, production was relocated to Varsak near Antalya in 1979. Better access to cow’s milk enabled the company to produce cheese throughout the year. In 1997, Ekici moved to a new factory in the Antalya Organized Industrial Zone with an initial daily milk-processing capacity of 100 tonnes. Its current production complex covers approximately 42,000 square metres and can process up to 480 tonnes of milk per day. The company’s range includes white cheeses, strained cheeses, kaşar cheeses, spreadable cheeses, mold-ripened cheeses, other specialty cheeses, and butter. Ekici currently exports its products to several countries.
