Malleolus de Sanchomartin is one of the most prestigious wines from Emilio Moro and a true benchmark for top-tier Ribera del Duero reds. It comes from the historic Sancho Martín vineyard, a single-parcel site planted with old-vine Tinto Fino that delivers naturally low yields and exceptional concentration.

The vineyard’s limestone-rich soils and elevated position contribute to both structure and freshness, giving the wine a distinctive balance of power and elegance. Grapes are harvested by hand and rigorously selected to ensure only the finest fruit is used.

In the cellar, vinification is carried out with great precision, focusing on gentle extraction to preserve purity and avoid excessive heaviness. Ageing takes place mainly in French oak barrels, chosen to enhance complexity without masking the vineyard character.

Aromatically, the wine shows layers of black cherry, blackberry, and ripe plum, supported by notes of sweet spice, cocoa, and subtle mineral nuances. On the palate, it is rich and full-bodied, yet remarkably refined, with dense but silky tannins that provide both immediate appeal and long ageing potential.

The acidity is well integrated, bringing freshness to the naturally powerful profile. Oak influence is present but perfectly balanced, adding depth rather than dominance.

The finish is long, persistent, and elegant, marked by lingering dark fruit and spice. With time in the bottle, Malleolus de Sanchomartin develops complex tertiary aromas of leather, tobacco, and earthy tones.

It pairs especially well with roasted red meats, game, and aged cheeses. More than just a flagship wine, it represents the highest expression of Emilio Moro’s philosophy of precision, terroir focus, and long-term vision.
