Escala Humana

Livverá Bequignol

4.0 ·

Livverá Bequignol is one of the most distinctive wines of Escala Humana and a pure expression of the Bequignol grape, a rare and largely forgotten variety in contemporary Argentine winemaking. The fruit comes from an old vineyard in El Zampal, Uco Valley, where the vines are trained in a traditional pergola system that helps preserve freshness and moderate ripeness.

The wine is made with minimal intervention, using spontaneous fermentation and avoiding heavy enological manipulation in order to retain the natural character of both the variety and its origin. In the glass, it shows a light ruby color and a notably transparent style.

The aromatic profile is driven by fresh red fruits such as raspberry and cranberry, complemented by subtle herbal and spicy notes. On the palate, it is light to medium-bodied, with vibrant acidity, very fine tannins, and pronounced drinkability.

Stylistically, it aligns more closely with cool-climate reds like Gamay or Trousseau than with traditional Argentine red wines. Livverá Bequignol emphasizes texture, energy, and authenticity, appealing to those who value elegant, restrained wines with a clear sense of place.
