Esporão Private Selection Tinto is a premium red wine produced by Herdade do Esporão in Portugal’s Alentejo region, made from carefully selected grapes grown in the estate’s best vineyards. The wine is typically a blend of varieties such as Alicante Bouschet, Aragonez, and Syrah, which thrive in the warm Alentejo climate and develop rich aromas and structure.

Each variety is vinified separately to preserve its character, and the wine is then aged for about 18 months in French oak barrels followed by additional maturation in bottle. In the glass it shows a deep ruby-garnet color and complex aromas of ripe dark fruits such as blackberry and plum, complemented by notes of spice, cocoa, and subtle toasted oak.

On the palate it is full-bodied and concentrated, with ripe tannins, layered fruit flavors, and balanced acidity. The texture is rich yet elegant, leading to a long and persistent finish.

Esporão Private Selection Tinto is considered one of the winery’s flagship wines and has good aging potential, developing additional complexity over time.
