Louis d’Or is one of the flagship cheeses of Fromagerie du Presbytère, made from raw cow’s milk sourced from the family’s own farm and inspired by traditional Alpine cooked and pressed cheese styles. It is a washed-rind cheese that undergoes a long aging period, typically 6 to 9 months, while the Grand Réserve versions mature significantly longer.

The texture is firm, compact, and elastic, with a smooth paste that develops increasing complexity over time. Its flavor profile is rich and well-rounded, marked by notes of hazelnut, dried fruit, butter, and subtle caramelized nuances.

The washed rind contributes additional aromatic depth without overpowering the balance of the cheese. Louis d’Or takes its name from the farm that supplies the milk and also alludes to its “golden” character, both in color and quality.

Widely awarded at Canadian and international competitions, it is regarded as a benchmark of contemporary Canadian artisanal cheesemaking, combining technical precision, tradition, and a strong expression of terroir.
