G.D. Vajra Coste di Rose is a Barolo DOCG wine that reflects the distinctive terroir of one of the Langhe’s most respected crus.
Sourced from vineyards planted on calcareous clay soils with excellent sun exposure and natural drainage, Coste di Rose sits in a landscape of rolling hills that favors healthy ripening of Nebbiolo while preserving vibrant acidity and aromatic finesse. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted, with fermentation and maceration conducted to extract refined tannins and layered aromas without harshness.
After malolactic conversion, the wine undergoes extended aging in traditional large Slavonian oak casks, allowing structural integration and the development of complex tertiary notes. In the glass it shows a garnet hue with brick tones emerging with age.
On the nose it opens to intense notes of red cherry, rose petal, tobacco leaf and hints of dried herbs and minerals - hallmarks of classic Barolo character. The palate is structured yet elegant, with firm but polished tannins, bright acidity and a long, persistent finish that speaks to both power and finesse.
Coste di Rose pairs exceptionally well with rich northern Italian cuisine - braised meats, game, aged cheeses and truffle dishes. It balances seriousness and approachability, making it a compelling expression of Nebbiolo from a historic Langhe site.
