Gongjiaoyuan Hanyuan Gong Jiao is a Sichuan pepper from Hanyuan County in China’s Sichuan Province, offered by Sichuan Weijia Food under its Gongjiaoyuan brand.

The name Gong Jiao, meaning “tribute pepper”, reflects the tradition of presenting Hanyuan pepper to the imperial court, dating back to the Tang dynasty.

This regional spice is distinguished by its red, aromatic husks rich in essential oils, intense fragrance, and pronounced, long-lasting tingling sensation on the tongue. The peppercorns are dried and sorted before being used as a seasoning.
