Plavac Mali from Grgić Vina is made from hand-harvested grapes grown on the prestigious Dingač and Postup slopes of the Pelješac Peninsula - a region renowned for producing Croatia’s finest red wines. In line with Miljenko Grgić’s winemaking philosophy, fermentation takes place with natural yeasts and under strict temperature control to preserve the varietal’s character and expressive fruit profile. After fermentation, the wine matures for 15 months in French oak barrels, followed by an additional two years of bottle aging, allowing it to develop fullness, roundness, and aromatic harmony.
The nose is complex, offering notes of blackberry and Dalmatian herbs, while the palate is rich, structured, and elegant. It is best served at 18 °C and pairs perfectly with red meats, roasted dishes, and strong cheeses. This wine reflects the authenticity of the Plavac Mali variety and the sophistication of traditional winemaking in a modern expression.
