Pošip from Grgić Vina is made from the indigenous grape variety of the same name, grown in the area of Čara on the island of Korčula - a region known for its ideal conditions for white grape cultivation, thanks to mild summer breezes and favorable microclimate. The winemaking process takes place in the winery’s cellar in Trstenik, under the expert supervision of Miljenko Grgić. Fermentation is slow and carried out at a controlled low temperature of around 12 °C, in order to preserve the expressive aromas typical of the Pošip variety.
After fermentation, the wine matures for 4 to 6 months in specially selected French oak barrels for white wines, allowing gentle oxidation and the development of subtle vanilla and woody notes. This is followed by bottle aging in a cool cellar for about six months, ensuring full harmony between varietal character and oak influence. The recommended serving temperature is 10-12 °C, and the wine pairs beautifully with fish and seafood dishes.
