Hacı Şerif is a Turkish family-owned company specializing in traditional confectionery, headquartered in Denizli. It was founded in 1938 in Babadağ, a town in Denizli Province. Production was started by Mehmet Tevfik Helvacı and his son Şerif Helvacı, after whom the brand was named. The family initially worked as confectioners, and the company became particularly well known in Denizli and the surrounding area for its semolina halva. During the 1950s, Şerif’s sons Mithat and Necip joined the family business as representatives of the third generation. Production was subsequently expanded and relocated to the city of Denizli, where the company’s main facility remains today. According to the company, its factory covers approximately 5,000 square metres. Semolina halva has remained its most recognizable product and an important part of the brand’s identity. Over time, the range expanded to include Turkish delight, chocolate, akide candies, tahini, various types of halva and fruit-based sweets. Production combines family recipes with modern equipment and standardized quality-control procedures. The business has been continued by several generations of the Helvacı family, preserving the brand’s connection with the confectionery tradition of Denizli.
