Moon Harvested is a red wine produced by Herdade dos Grous in Portugal’s Alentejo region, created from grapes harvested at night to preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. The grapes are picked during the cooler nighttime hours, reducing oxidation and allowing better control during fermentation.
The wine is typically a blend of Alicante Bouschet, Touriga Nacional, and Syrah, varieties that develop deep color, structure, and rich aromas in the warm Alentejo climate. After harvesting and careful selection, fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures to maintain the fruit character of the wine. Part of the wine is then aged in oak barrels, adding complexity and a more refined structure.
In the glass it shows a deep ruby color and aromas of ripe dark fruits such as blackberry, plum, and black cherry, accompanied by hints of spice and subtle chocolate notes. On the palate it is full-bodied and smooth, with ripe tannins and balanced acidity that brings freshness.
The finish is long and elegant, with persistent fruit and gentle oak influence.
