Grand Prestige is the crown jewel of the Hertog Jan Brewery in Arcen -– a powerful barleywine with 10% ABV, often described as a “beer wine”. This iconic label embodies the brewery’s tradition and artisanal excellence.

It is brewed using a special blend of four types of malt, resulting in a rich, full-bodied flavor with a well-defined balance between sweetness and bitterness. The beer pours a deep reddish-brown color and exudes a biscuity aroma with layers of caramel, dried fruits, candied sugar, and even subtle tobacco notes in the background.

On the palate, it reveals a complex harmony: the malty base gives way to a spicy bitterness, with hints of dark fruit, herbal spice, and gentle warming alcohol. The finish is dry, long-lasting, and leaves a rich, balanced aftertaste with nuances reminiscent of liqueurs or aged port wine.

Grand Prestige can mature for up to eight years in the brewery’s cellar, during which its aromatic depth continues to evolve - making it a sought-after choice for beer enthusiasts who appreciate long-term aging potential.
