Majra Honey is a rare seasonal monofloral honey produced by Jibal Bilghazi Apiaries in the mountainous areas of Jazan Province, southwestern Saudi Arabia. It is made from the nectar of the wild majra plant, locally known as nadgh and commonly identified in scientific studies of Saudi honey as Hypoestes forskaolii.
This perennial plant grows at high elevations in difficult-to-reach mountain terrain and flowers for a short period influenced by seasonal rainfall. Because its flowering is highly dependent on weather conditions, the available quantity of Majra Honey varies between seasons and is generally limited. The producer offers it as natural, raw honey without additives, extracted directly from the comb.
Majra Honey is known for crystallizing naturally soon after extraction, gradually developing a very pale, almost white color and a thick, finely creamy texture. It has pronounced, clean sweetness, a delicate floral aroma, and subtle herbal notes. It can be enjoyed on its own, spread on bread or pastries, or served with cheese, nuts, and traditional Saudi breakfast dishes. Its crystallization is a natural characteristic of this honey rather than a sign of spoilage or added sugar.
