Kamejū Dorayaki is a traditional Japanese sweet in the wagashi category, produced by Kamejū, a confectionery in Asakusa, Tokyo. It has been part of the shop’s range since its founding in the late Taishō period and is distinguished by large, airy pancake discs sandwiching a sweet bean filling.

The discs are individually baked by hand, with naturally uneven browning that is characteristic of the product. It is available in two main varieties: one with azuki beans from Tokachi, Hokkaido, and another with white tebo beans. The fillings are moderately sweet, allowing the beans’ natural flavor to come through.

Its distinctive appeal lies in its exceptionally soft, light pancake layers, whose texture resembles chiffon cake, combined with a generous filling.
