Kunming Tea Factory is one of the oldest and most influential tea institutions in China, founded in 1938 and widely recognized for its pioneering role in the development of modern pu-erh tea. During the 1970s, together with Menghai Tea Factory, it helped establish the foundations of the accelerated shou pu-erh fermentation technique, making this traditionally long-aged tea more accessible to a broader audience.
