Lionidzis Zvari Reserve Saperavi is a dry red wine from the Kakheti region, made from 100% Saperavi, a grape variety known for its deep color and strong structure. It shows pronounced aromas of dark berries such as blackberry, plum, and blueberry, complemented by subtle spicy notes of vanilla and clove derived from oak aging.

On the palate, it is full-bodied with firm yet balanced tannins, revealing layers of blackcurrant and ripe fruit that add depth and complexity. The texture is smooth, with well-integrated oak, while freshness maintains overall balance.

The finish is long and structured, making the wine suitable for aging, but also approachable in its earlier stages. It has received international recognition, including a gold medal at the IWSC, confirming its quality on a global level.

Lionidzis Zvari is a Georgian winery established in 2006 in the village of Vardisubani, located within the Tsinandali microzone in the Kakheti region, one of the country’s most important wine-growing areas. The vineyards are situated on historically significant land once associated with Solomon Lionidze, a diplomat at the court of King Erekle II, which adds cultural depth to the winery’s identity.

The estate focuses on native grape varieties such as Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, Mtsvane, Kisi, and Khikhvi, aiming to reflect the specific terroir defined by local soils and climatic conditions. Production combines traditional Georgian techniques with modern winemaking practices, with a strong emphasis on fermentation and aging in qvevri—large clay vessels buried underground, recognized as part of UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage.

Their wines are typically structured, with a balance between freshness, tannins, and aromatic complexity, depending on the style and vinification method. Particular attention is given to qvevri wines, which express pronounced texture and varietal character.
