Macau Beer is a brewery from Macau founded in 1996 with the goal of creating the region's first authentic local beer brand that would reflect the identity of this Special Administrative Region of China. The company was established by a young American brewer who, inspired by Macau's unique blend of Portuguese and Chinese heritage, sought to develop a beer closely connected to the city's culture and character. In its early years, brewing took place at a small brewery in Macau before production was later moved to an industrial facility in neighboring Zhuhai, China, to accommodate growing demand. Although brewing is now carried out outside Macau, the brand has retained its strong association with the city and continues to be marketed as Macau's local beer. Its portfolio includes several beer styles, such as lager, golden ale, and seasonal specialty releases. Macau Beer is brewed using 100% malt without the addition of rice or corn, a feature the company emphasizes as part of its brewing approach. Today, Macau Beer is widely recognized as the only local beer brand of Macau and one of the city's distinctive gastronomic symbols.
