Qarad Honey is a natural raw honey produced by Saudi Arabian company Manahil Alakhween, made predominantly from the nectar of qarad tree blossoms. Qarad, also known as the Nile acacia (Vachellia nilotica, formerly Acacia nilotica), is a thorny tree that grows in the hot, arid regions of Saudi Arabia, particularly in valleys and other areas where it can withstand high temperatures and prolonged periods without rainfall.

During the tree’s limited flowering season, beehives are placed near areas where qarad grows abundantly, encouraging the bees to forage primarily on its nectar. The honey comes from the producer’s own apiaries and is described as raw and unpasteurized, without intensive heat treatment. This helps preserve its natural aroma, texture, and characteristics associated with its botanical origin.

Qarad Honey typically has a deep red to very dark amber color, a thick texture, and a strong, lingering aroma. Its pronounced sweetness is accompanied by earthy, woody, and subtly caramel-like notes, giving it a more robust flavor than lighter blossom honeys. It can be enjoyed on its own, added to warm beverages after they have cooled slightly, or served with tahini, dark bread, aged cheeses, and roasted meats.
