Erekle’s Wine by Marani Casreli is a natural amber wine from Kakheti, made as a blend of indigenous Georgian grape varieties such as Rkatsiteli, Kisi, Mtsvane, and Khikhvi. It is produced using the traditional qvevri method, with spontaneous fermentation and extended skin contact, which gives the wine its structure, depth, and characteristic tannins.
The style is dry, unfiltered, and minimally intervened, allowing the raw expression of the grapes and vintage to come through. Aromatically, it shows notes of dried apricot, citrus peel, herbs, and light tea-like nuances, often accompanied by subtle nutty tones.
On the palate, it is textured and layered, with balanced acidity and gentle tannins that provide grip and length. The finish is persistent, combining fruit, spice, and earthy elements.
Named after King Erekle II, the wine reflects a historical inspiration translated into a contemporary natural wine style rooted in Kakhetian tradition.
